Yay or Nay? Mario’s Net Top with Leggings

Back in the day, American Apparel came out with one of those “wear it 50 different ways” thingies. They even had a little video playing next to the display so you could see a girl creating all the different looks. Looking back, I’m realizing it was just a long piece of colored cloth… but at the time, I remember thinking “I’ll get a lot of use out of this.” Once I got it home, though, I couldn’t even remember ONE of the ways I was supposed to wear it, so it’s pretty much been sitting at the bottom of a drawer for about four years.

So while it’s not really related at all, this Net Top with Leggings thing from Pixie Market totally reminds me of that experience. Although this one I could figure out how to wear just from the picture, because I’m a little sharper and wiser than I was four years ago. I think…

Regardless, we’re verging into unpredictable Fall weather now, so you’re going to be needing some leggings and a scarf. So why not 2 in 1? (Although, do these really count as leggings when they don’t go any higher than knee socks?) I think I would feel a bit like a puppet in this contraption, but would you wear it?

Style Syllabus: Arm Yourself, Medieval-Style

I’m not into live-action role playing, nor do I spend my Friday nights hanging at Medieval Times, but right now, I’m really feeling the armored look. Be it on shoulders, bags, rings, or whatever– things that make you look like you could throw down in a joust are high on my fashion radar.

So here are some items for this week’s style syllabus that will have you looking like you raided Joan of Arc’s closet.

Must Have Now: Underground Winklepicker Boots

I never succumbed to the power of the Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony boots. I never got around to picking up the Jeffrey Campbell knock-offs either. But these Underground winklepickers (which are essentially the boot version of the aforementioned) I can work with for $173.

Ok, so they’re kind of sold out at Pixie Market right now, but if you don’t want to wait for them to restock at the end of this month, you buy them fresh off the Underground site.
