Why she gave up The OC, I’ll never know. The idea that she could move on to bigger and better things seems laughable now in retrospect. And her acting skills clearly don’t lend themselves to the big screen, as I don’t think she’s ever been in a movie that didn’t go straight to DVD/TV. But then honestly, besides the fact that she is an attractive, high-cheekboned Caucasian girl who can afford clothes that aren’t totally ugly, I never got her appeal. How can anyone really get excited about her when she doesn’t even seem excited about herself? Even in this upcoming show, “The Beautiful Life,” where she plays a character that doesn’t seem too far from herself, she can’t even muster the energy to deliver her lines, as they carry about as much enthusiasm as a walking corpse. So if the creators of this new CW project thought that casting Mischa would lure viewers into watching this show, they could’ve at least created a plot that didn’t look like the script was recycled from an old episode of the “The Hills”– and made even more impossibly boring.
