Must Have Now: MadeMe Rose Leather Jackets

I NEED one of these jackets from the MadeMe Fall ’09 collection like the desert needs the rain.

But I don’t 550-dollars need them… Then again, I don’t really need an iPhone either, but need is such a flexible term these days. So, which is the sounder investment half a grand? Bomber or Motorcycle Jacket? Decisions, decisions.

Must Have Now: Leather & Lace Fingerless Studded Glove

One of the many legacies that Michael Jackson left behind was the trend of wearing the solitary glove. In a tribute to him, in addition to the fact that this handmade piece by Sweet Marie for San Francisco-based t-shirt line Improperazzi is just pretty amazing, this glove will probably be making an introduction into my accessories line-up. Clearly these are blatant knock-off of the amazing Ann Demeulemeester lace-up boots, minus a million dollars– which is precisely why I need them immediately. Score them at Free People (for $198) before they’re out of your size!

I’ve been lusting after the Alexander Wang Brenda bag ever since Kate Lanphear started toting it around town. So while this Steve Madden knock-off is obviously not as great, it’s close enough for $198!

Must Have Now: Jeffrey Campbell Bank-2 Pumps

Because I already have the Preen lace-up (from Spring 09) inspired Jeffrey Campbell “Doo” boots, and I need something to substitute for the Matthew Williamson H&M grommet vest I don’t have, I’ll settle for these babies for $124 bucks.

Must Have Now: Matthew Williamson Grommet Leather Vest

New York loooves standing in lines in the name of fashion. Remember the frenzy that ensued with the April opening of Topshop? That was hipster persistence at its best. I, however, stood in that for about 10 minutes before giving up. I’ll admit that I used to be one of those people willing to join a queue for sample sales and exclusive designer releases, until the thought dawned on me: Why am I standing in a three hour-long line to buy something that will not only be expensive but everyone and her cousin will be wearing? Otherwise meaning– I’m not that special. I’d rather just buy a one-of piece on eBay and call it a day. Plus, in my old age (25), I really just don’t have the stamina I had in my early 20′s. That said, the Matthew Williamson for H&M debut was definitely not enough to stir me out of my seat. But now seeing this vest, I’m kind of bummed. Because I want it. I want it bad.

Shoe fashion recently saw the resurgence of the spat (see Posso the Spat), which gave heels and sandals a dramatic cowboy/gladiator-ish facelift. Now, the two designers, Mackenzie and Rachael, behind San Francisco-based accessories label Litter have taken glamming up your goody two-shoes one step further with shoe jewelry. With a range of studded, spiked, and chain accoutrements, Litter pieces can completely transform a pair of plain pumps to designer-like duds.
