I periodically go through phases where I’m all about bags or shoes, but right now, it’s all about the jewelry. I’ve actually been slightly manic about getting my hands on beautiful rings lately, so luckily, I’ve found a place where I can get a quick fix: Fashionology, a newly opened e-shop by Rachel Duister through the Netherlands-based blog of the same name. Her pieces are reminiscent of New York-based jewelry designer Pamela Love with her use of crosses, snakes, and animal claws and talons– but at a much lower price point, which I won’t argue with. While she’s always updating the site with new pieces, click to see some of my current must-have items in the e-shop.
Online Shop Exposed: Bona Drag
8 JunI like to do most of my shopping online. Not because I’m a recluse. Just because I like getting things other people don’t have to make me exclusive. And the rest of the time I shop at H&M, Forever 21, and Topshop. So, yeah. There goes that little bit about being exclusive… Anyway, every time I come across a new online store, I happily bookmark it feeling like it’s ‘my little secret.’ But now I feel like being magnanimous. Sharing is caring, right?
So here’s my first reveal– Bona Drag. They carry the labels Scout, Judi Rosen, Sophomore, Obesity and Speed, Samantha Pleet, and accessory lines Bliss Lau and Pamela Love. And while recently browsing around the store for stuff I don’t need, I came across a cute little floral dress by Rachel Antonoff called “The Arfin”– which surprise surprise, I found out is named after former Missbehave editor, Lesley Arfin. Here’s the best part, though: when you order anything from Bona Drag, they send you their special mixed CD of the season, which actually has some good stuff on it (meaning, I played it a handful of times before moving on). While I’m in the spirit of generosity, I’ve gone ahead and pre-screened your purchases. You’re welcome!
